Cittadini Graduating Classes Find Renewal at Mornese Spiritual Retreat in Los Baños

Mornese Spiritual Retreat

LOS BAÑOS, LAGUNA — In preparation for their upcoming milestones, the graduating classes of Cittadini School recently stepped away from their academic routines for a time of reflection, prayer, and bonding during a series of spiritual retreats held at the Mornese Center of Spirituality.

The staggered retreats, which took place over four days in early March, were specially designed for the graduating cohorts of the elementary, junior high, and senior high school departments. Nestled in the peaceful, nature-filled environment of Los Baños, the Mornese center provided the perfect backdrop for students to pause and spiritually prepare for their next chapters.

A Time for Introspection

The retreat schedule was thoughtfully divided to give each batch their own dedicated time for introspection:

  • Grade 6 (March 3 & 4): The elementary graduates were the first to arrive, focusing on gratitude for their foundational years and building spiritual readiness as they transition into junior high school.
  • Grade 10 (March 4 & 5): The junior high completers followed, engaging in sessions centered on personal growth, overcoming challenges, and seeking guidance as they prepare for the specialized tracks of senior high school.
  • Grade 12 (March 5 & 6): Concluding the series, the senior high school graduating class spent their two days reflecting on their entire Cittadini journey. Their sessions emphasized finding purpose, strengthening their faith, and preparing for the major leap into college and adulthood.

Throughout the consecutive retreats, students participated in guided reflections, group sharing, team-building exercises, and moments of quiet prayer. The serene atmosphere of the venue allowed the students to disconnect from the digital world and deeply connect with themselves, their peers, and their faith.

As graduation day approaches, the Grade 6, 10, and 12 students return to the Cittadini campus not just with renewed spirits, but with stronger bonds of friendship and a clearer sense of purpose for the future.
